Vimantal police arrest accused who was absconding after assaulting security guard

Anand Mahesh Nadgam had lodged a complaint at the Vimantal police station. The police had registered an FIR against Feroze Mohammad Shaikh and three of his aides under section 307 of the IPC. Feroze Shaikh was absconding after the FIR had been registered.

 

The complainant had forgotten his walkie talkie on the handcart. When he had gone to take his walkie talkie, the accused Feroze Shaikh and his aides tried to snatch it. Feroze abused the complainant and threatened him that he would kill him. He pushed him and kicked him multiple times. He also assaulted the complainant with an iron sickle and broke his two front teeth and seriously injured him.

 

Policemen Nana Karche and Yogesh Thopte came to know that Feroze Shaikh had come home. Later, PSI Ravindra Dhaware laid a trap and arrested him.

 

The action was taken by a team of police officials including senior PI Vilas Sonde, PI Sangita Mali, PSI Ravindra Dhaware, policemen Avinash Shewale, Sachin Kadam, Sachin Jadhav, Rupesh Pisal, Girish Nanekar, Nana Karche and Yogesh Thopte under the guidance of Police Commissioner Retesh Kumaarr, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Ramnath Pokale, DCP Shashikant Borate and ACP Kishore Jadhav.
