Experts are anticipating the arrival of the third wave of corona in the month of September. 14 new patients have been found in Maharashtra of the Delta Plus variant, which is believed to be the cause of the third wave. Accordingly, including the last 21 patients, 35 Delta Plus variants have been reported in Maharashtra so far. This number is more than half of the cases of 66 Delta Plus variants found in the country so far. In such a situation, vaccination is considered to be the best way to stop the third wave of corona. That’s why BMC has started trying to speed up the vaccination in Mumbai, with a target of one lakh citizens being vaccinated every day. But due to the lack of vaccine, the vaccination campaign gets braked again and again.

For the past few days, more than one lakh people are being given the vaccine every day. A record was set for the highest number of vaccines given on Monday. Vaccines were given to 1 lakh 80 thousand people on this day. So far 53 lakh people have been given the vaccine in Mumbai. But suddenly this Vaccination campaign has got a break once again due to the end of the vaccine dose.

BMC has also made some efforts to continue the vaccination campaign unabated and to ensure the supply of vaccines. BMC had also floated a global tender a few days ago. In this way one crore vaccine doses were to be purchased. But the eight companies that filled the tender failed to fulfill the conditions of the tender. Discussions started for several days last month with a company named Dr. Reddy’s Laboratory, which is the authorized distributor company of Sputnik Vaccine in India. But no decision has been made on this yet.
