‘Uri’ to be screened for free on July 26 for Kargil Vijay Diwas

NPnews24 Online Pune: Bollywood blockbuster ‘Uri’ will be screened for free at theatres across Maharashtra after Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis directed to do this. Puneites can watch the movie for free on July 26.

The Vicky Kaushal starrer, which was released in January this year, will be screened in 500 theatres in the State and 161 theatres in Pune district. Around 44,000 people will be able to watch the film and take pride on celebrating the Armed Forces.

The chief minister announced the screening of the movie occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas. Entertainment Department officials said that a meeting with theatre owners was held on Wednesday.

“The idea of screening the film for free is to instil a sense of pride in the heart of every Indian and to highlight the incredible service of the armed forces to our nation. The movie will certainly motivate the youth. The film will be screened between 10 am and 12 noon. We have received the directives from the government and we have passed on the message to theatre owners. About 56 theatres will screen in the film in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad,” said an official from the Entertainment Department.
