UP : Gang Rape Victim Completes Suicide, Security Tightened

New Delhi : Gangrape victim in Sadar Kotwali area in Chitrakoot district  completed suicide. The village has been converted into a cantonment after fear of any untoward incident due to the death of the victim girl. The police force of Saraiya station, including the police of other three police stations, has been deployed in the village.
Devastated by the daughter’s suicide, the parents say that they just need justice and demanded the arrest of both the youths. The father alleges that after the incident, the daughter was sad and also stopped moving out of the house. On the other hand, Satyanarayana, IG of Chitrakootdham Mandal, District Magistrate Seshamani Pandey and ASP PC Pandey, who reached the village after the incident, met the families and assured them of justice.
The father said that the daughter had passed class eight examination this year and enrolled in class IX. The daughter’s suicide has shaken them. She was the youngest of two brothers and five sisters. On the other hand, the force of Sadar Kotwali, Manikpur police station, Rapura police station and Saraiya police post has been deployed in the village after the incident.
Sadar Kotwali in-charge Jaishankar Singh was present near the teenager’s house with the force. The way the police force was alerted in the village and after the post mortem, the heavy force reached the village with the dead body in a police vehicle for the last rites, reminding of the Hathras incident. The teenager’s four sisters are married.
According to the family of the teenager, the body will be cremated in the village itself on Wednesday after the other family members arrive. Police have kept the dead body outside the house. One police officer said that video recordings are also being made so that there is no allegation of bias later.
In the case of the suicide of the rape victim teenager, there has been a discussion in the village since morning that she has also written a suicide note, which is with the police officers. In this regard, ASP PC Pandey said that no such letter has been received nor the family has discussed it.
On getting information about the incident, SAPA District President Anuj Yadav, former MLA Veer Singh Patel, met the victim’s family and took complete information from police officer Jaishankar Singh. SAPA members assured the family that they would do everything possible to get them justice. If the arrest of the accused is not done soon, the party will agitate. They have demanded a compensation of Rs 50 lakh to the victim’s family from the state government.
