Unit 1 of Crime Branch arrest two main accused for involvement in looting of trader’s employee of ₹47 lakh
Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune Crime News | The unit 1 of the Crime Branch has arrested two main accused for their involvement in the looting of a trader’s employee of ₹47 lakh by threatening with a sickle in Rasta Peth. Addl CP Ramnath Pokale, DCP Amol Zende and ACP Sunil Pawar said that ₹5 lakh had been seized from them. (Pune Crime News)
The arrested accused have been identified as Kiran Ashok Pawar and Akash Kapil Gorad, both residents of Bibvewadi. Senior police officials had issued instructions that a search operation should be mounted on a war footing to trace them and arrest them. ACP Sunil Pawar of the Crime Branch and PI Shabbir Sayyad of unit 1 were conducting a parallel probe of the case registered at the Samarth police station. They checked 200 to 250 CCTV footage in Baner, Hinjewadi and Gahunje areas. On March 28, API Rahul Makhre and policeman Datta Sonwane came to know that the robbery was committed by Kiran Pawar and his aide Akash Gorad. They came to know that Kiran Pawar was hiding in Wagholi and Akash Gorad had gone to Kothurnegaon near the Pavna dam and he had the stolen amount with him.
The team of unit 1 of the Crime Branch collected additional information about them. Aksh Gorad was arrested from Kothurnegaon near the Pavna dam. When he was grilled, he admitted committing the crime. ₹1 lakh was seized from him and a team of police officials arrested Kiran Pawar from Wagheshwar temple area and seized ₹4 lakh from him.
The police seized ₹5 lakh from both of them and arrested them. Both the accused are criminals on the police record and FIRs of attempt to murder, causing injury and illegal possession of sharp weapons are registered at the Bharati Vidyapeeth and Bibvewadi police stations.
Police Commissioner Ritesh Kumaarr, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Ramnath Pokale, DCP Amol Zende and ACP Sunil Pawar guided PI Shabbir Sayyad, PSI Sunil Kulkarni, policemen Datta Sonwane, Shubham Desai, Rahul Makhre, Abhinav Ladkat, Nilesh Sable, Mahesh Bamgude, Ayyaz Daddikar, Vitthal Salunkhe, Aniket Babar and Shashikant Darekar.
