Uddhav govt. orders investigation into the tweets of celebrities in support of farmers’ protest

Mumbai : After the tweet by pop star singer Rihanna in support of the farmers movement, the Uddhav government has taken a big step in the tweet by various Bollywood-sports personalities. The Maharashtra government has ordered an inquiry into the tweets by these celebrities.

Recently, many celebrities, including Bollywood actors Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Lata Mangeshkar, cricketer Sachin Tendulkar tweeted after the Ministry of External Affairs responded. In these tweets, they also posted hashtags of India Together and India Against Propaganda.

The Maharashtra government has asked the Intelligence Department to investigate against these tweets. The department will investigate whether these stars had tweeted under any pressure. The complaint was filed against these tweets by the Congress and alleged that most tweets had the same pattern. Earlier, MNS chief Raj Thackeray also attacked the government for celebrities’ tweets.

Raj Thackeray had said that the central government should not have asked Lata Mangeshkar and Sachin Tendulkar to tweet in their support. He alleged that the government should limit the use of actors for their campaign.
