Three years’ requirement for second degree after completion of one degree course in SPPU

Pune : NpNews24 Online  –  After completing one degree at the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), a student taking admission for the second degree course has been given a deadline of three years to complete the relevant degree course. It is also mandatory to take admission to the second master’s degree within a maximum of four years after completing the first degree or first master’s degree. This new policy has been communicated by the university issuing a circular.

The University Management Council has taken this decision for the degree courses in Science, Arts, Computer Science, Mathematics, Electronics etc. The university has also asked that colleges affiliated to the university and autonomous colleges should not admit more students than their admission capacity for second degree courses. It has also been instructed to give new PRN numbers to the students admitted for second degree. So the students will get two PRN numbers i.e. Graduation and Post Graduation.

If any student does not have a choice-based credit system while pursuing first degree, the second degree result process should be declared in percentage mode. The students with first degree or first master’s degree from an affiliated college may get admission to second degree or second post graduate courses. In the meantime, if there is any change in the syllabus, the students will have to take equivalence. The university has also said in the circular that these subjects will be evaluated at the college level only.
