This is the result of transfers of cops by way of nepotism: Minister Chandrakant Patil’s reaction to the sickle gangs rise in Pune

Pune : NpNews24 Online  –Chandrakant Patil On Pune Koyta Gang | In the last few days, sickle gangs have wreaked havoc in major suburbs and areas of the city. The open drama of goons wielding sickles was seen on social media. Incidents of harassing, robbing and apparently beating and threatening citizens on the streets were seen at different places in the city. This all was also reflected in the winter session of the state legislature, which ended just recently. In the session, the leader of the opposition Ajit Pawar raised the issue of sickle gangs terror in Hadapsar area of Pune. Now Pune District Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil has reacted to this. He said that this is the result of the transfer of police officers that took place during the Maha Vikas Aghadi government. (Chandrakant Patil On Pune Koyta Gang)

Speaking further, Patil said, “Police Commissioner Retesh Kumarr is keeping an eye on the events in the city. I also agree that criminals have become bolder. However, the manner in which police officers were transferred during the MVA government in the state also had some effect. When police officers’ appointments are backed by nepotism and familiarity, they work carelessly while doing their job. But Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis is changing this scenario. Five new Deputy Commissioners of Police have been brought at the Police Commissionerate in Pune. All those appointed in Pune have a strong background. Pune is famous for being a peaceful city. We will go in that direction soon.”

Sickle Gang’s ruckus in the suburbs
The sickle gang carried out many attacks in and around Hadapsar. A video also went viral on social media. The citizens of the locality directly appealed to the Chief Minister to rein in the sickle gang. The letter regarding that also went viral on social media. Even now, some videos of people who cause ruckus for no reason are posted on social media. Recently, a video of people creating terror in Sinhagad College went viral on social media. The police chased the miscreants and nabbed them. The Bharati Viyapeeth Police have arrested one person who escaped, after creating terror, to Beed city.

‘Action Plan’ for permanent settlement
Police Commissioner Retesh Kumarr has prepared an action plan to permanently solve the issues of ‘Sickle Gangs’ and those under the age of 16. For this, he has also appointed a DCP as the nodal officer. CP Retesh Kumar has not only appointed a DCP of the IPS rank as the nodal officer but has also given him important instructions to eradicate crime from the city and deal with the sickle gangs. Accordingly, the concerned authorities have also collected details about the criminals’ modus operandi, scope and other things. It is understood that the police are trying to implement it immediately.

Illegitimate incidents happening in midtown with suburbs
The illegal business is going on on a large scale in many major suburbs of the city is clear from the action taken by the police from time to time. Such ‘activities’ happen in the suburbs, but they have reached the heart of the city. In many places, the ‘Thirty First’ was bid adieu in peace and the New Year was also welcomed with enthusiasm. However, it would not be wrong to say that some ‘illegitimate activities’ are going on with the favor of the concerned police in many places. Although CP Ritesh Kumarr explained his role in the very first ‘WRM’, majority of police officers and employees seem to have not understood it.

Vacant posts in Kondhwa, Wanawadi and Crime Branch
For the first time after the COVID period, the State Home Department transferred police inspectors about three weeks ago.

Among them, some PIs from Pune were transferred outside Pune and some from outside to Pune. Even after several days of general transfers, at the two important police stations in Pune city viz. Kondhwa Police Station and Wanawadi Police Station, no senior PI has been appointed. Some posts in Pune Police Crime Branch are also vacant.
Even though many police inspectors are waiting, the posts in Kondhwa, Wanwadi police station and crime branch are vacant.
