There is definitely a way out through discussion! I will go to Belgaum to discuss the border issue: Chandrakant Patil

Mumbai : NpNews24 Online  – Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has appointed a committee comprising Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil and State Excise Minister Shambhuraj Desai on the Maharashtra-Karnataka border dispute. Chandrakant Patil has been invited for discussion by the Central Maharashtra Integration Committee in Belgaum. On December 3, Chandrakant Patil will visit Belgaum and discuss the issue with the workers of the committee. Chandrakant Patil revealed this in a tweet recently.

The Central Maharashtra Integration Committee sent a letter to Chandrakant Patil and invited him for a meeting. Patil tweeted the letter. ‘The Central Maharashtra Integration Committee invited us to Belgaum and to discuss the border issue with them. Accordingly, Coordinating Minister Shambhuraj Desai and I will visit Belgaum on December 3. Let’s meet, there will definitely be a way out through discussion!’ tweeted Patil.

The border issue is in the limelight again after Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai claimed some Kannada-speaking territories in Solapur and Akkalkot areas. Bommai also claimed that 40 villages in Jat taluka had decided to join Karnataka. That claim has been rejected by the Maharashtra Government. Now, the Maharashtra Government is fighting the issue in court. All are eager to find some way through coordination and discussion. Therefore, this meeting will be important. Shambhuraj Desai will also attend the meeting.
