The signature of the Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao has been found on the certificate of the SNBP International School at Chikhali in Haveli taluka. It has been revealed in the investigation of the Pune Police that a fake certificate of CBSE has been prepared. It has been revealed that Saurabh Rao has signed the document.
Looking at the tendency of parents to admit their students to CBSE schools, many schools of the State Board of Education have created fake certificates of CBSE approval. It has come to light that a gang was operating that sold fake certificates of CBSE approval to schools for a few lakhs. For this purpose, forged signatures of officials of the education department in the ministry have been used.
After the scam, an inquiry into the matter was ordered. During the investigation, 43 schools in Pune district were found to be bogus. After the inspection conducted by the education department of Pune Zilla Parishad, 30 of these 43 schools were permanently closed. Action has been started against the principal and management committee of these schools.
