Terror in Kothrud ahead of Ganeshotsav, one person attacked with a sword



A gang of about 15 persons armed with sharp weapons including swords terrorized people in Kothrud on Tuesday night.

The incident took place in Kishkindhanagar locality of Kothrud. Kiran Ashok Tude (27) of Kishkindhanagar has sustained severe injuries after he was attacked by the goons.

According to police, the accused persons were armed swords, choppers and wooden sticks. They created a ruckus and also pelted stones on shops. Many traders closed down the shutter to avoid damage.

Police said that Kiran was chatting with his two friends Santosh Baban Tude (25) of Sutardara and Yogesh Gangaram Sathe (27) of Pirangut when the accused persons attacked him with a sword.

Based on a complaint from Sathe, an FIR has been registered against Dheeraj Kudale, Sahil Halande and their accomplices for offences under sections 307 (attempt to murder), other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), Maharashtra Police Act.

After getting information senior police officers visited the area. Assistant police inspector MV Raut is further investigating the case.
