The film is directed by Om Raut. In Tanaji: The Unsung Warrior, Ajay Devgan played the role of Tanaji Malusare, a soldier of the Maratha Empire. Kajol plays his wife Savitri Bai Malusare and Saif Ali Khan as Udaybhan Rathore.
