Tamil Nadu: Alert issued following ‘Gati’ and ‘Nivar’ hurricanes, Bus service closed in 7 districts

New Delhi : Alerts have been issued in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry after another cyclone in the Bay of Bengal. The light pressure created in the Bay of Bengal will take the form of a cyclone in the next 24 hours.
The meteorological department has forecasted that hurricane ‘Nivar’ will hit Tamil Nadu and Puducherry on November 25. Heavy rains are forecast in coastal areas of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry due to the cyclone. Winds can also blow at speeds of about 100 to 120 kmph.
Following the hurricane forecast, the NDRF team and the local administration are vigil. As a precautionary measure, bus service has been suspended in seven districts of Tamil Nadu
On the other hand, due to the speed storm centered in the Arabian Sea, signal number two has been maintained at all the ports of Gujarat. According to the meteorological department, Gujarat will not be affected by the hurricane. The IMD has also forecasted that the state will experience a decrease in cold for the next two days.
