Supriya Sule Slams Government Over Soaring Inflation and Electricity Hikes On Her Pune Visit (Video)

Pune: Today, Supriya Sule was on the Pune visit to attend the protest organised by the NCP against the electricity tariff hike. At that time, Sule held the government responsible for a number of issues, including the current electricity hike, rising unemployment in the state, and the water scarcity problem. Similarly, she also issued a staunch rebuttal to opposition leaders who trolled Mahavikas Aaghadi’s candidate for Pune Lok Sabha, Ravindra Dhangekar, for his educational background.

Replying to critics trolling Dhangekar, Sule said, “It is such a shameful thing to criticise someone over his or her education.” She also said that as the opposition is frustrated because they have nothing else to criticise about Ravindra Dhangekar, they are misleading the people by drawing such frivolous issues into the election campaign.

“The people of this country are demanding change. People are now tired and frustrated with the rising corruption and unemployment in the country. As this government is anti-farmers and anti-workers, people will vote this time against the current government to bring change to the country,” she added.

While speaking on the apathy of the government on the water issue, Sule said, “The water problem in my constituency is very serious. The dams are completely dried, and people have no water to drink. In this situation, this government is turning a blind eye to such a serious situation.” She further said that her priority is to work on these issues rather than politics, rebuking the government for its inaction on the water issue in her constituency.

Today, Pune City NCP activists protested the state government over their recent order to increase the electricity tariff. Speaking about it, Sule said that not only in Maharashtra, but the common people of the entire country are facing the highest inflation ever. In such a situation, it should be the duty of the government to devise a policy to relieve the public from the crisis of inflation. However, the Fadnavis-Pawar-Shinde government in Maharashtra has given a shock to the people who have already been affected by the soaring inflation by increasing electricity prices.

Sule further alleged that the Fadnavis-Pawar-Shinde government has increased the total electricity tariff by an average of 15% by increasing the minimum fixed size of electricity and electricity tariff per unit.
