Special Public Prosecutor Adv Pravin Chavan, along with two others, booked by Deccan police in connection with Rs 1.22 cr ransom case
Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune Crime News | A case has been registered against Special Public Prosecutor Adv Pravin Pandit Chavan and two others at the Deccan Police Station in connection with an extortion case, in which Rs 2 cr was demanded and Rs 1.22 crs was received as an extortion. Suraj Sunil Zanwar lodged a complaint in this regard. Accordingly, the Deccan police filed a complaint against Adv. Pravin Pandit Chavan from Shivajinagar, Shekhar Madhukar Sonalkar from Jalgaon and Uday Nanabhau Pawar Chalisgaon under sections 166, 213, 384, 385, 386, 388, 120B, 606 and 34 of IPC.
Between 20 November 2021 to June 2022 Special Public Prosecutor Adv. Pravin Chavan, Shekhar Sonalkar and Uday Pawar colluded with each other and misused their position as government public servants to harm the complainant Zanwar and his father and promised to help Zanwar’s father get bail.
They tried to trap Zanwar in a serious crime under MCOCA registered at the Kothrud Police Station and demanded a ransom of Rs 2 crore. Adv. Chavan and others have taken Rs 1.22 crs from him as extortion.
After Zhanwar lodged a complaint at the Deccan Police Station on Monday, a case has been registered against Adv. Pravin Chavan and two others. Deccan Police is conducting further investigation into the crime.
