Sindhutai Sapkal | Imposters cheating citizens in the name of Late Padma Shree Sindhutai Sapkal; many likely to have been duped across Maharashtra

Some anti-social elements have taken advantage of this aspect and have launched fake NGOs. They are seeking donations telling people that they have orphan girls who need to be married off and seek financial aid. It is suspected that a network of such fraudsters is operating across the country. Numerous people may have been swindled by them. The real institution run by Sindhutai has appealed to people to be cautious about such people.
The conmen are demanding online donations for marriages of orphan girls. It is learnt that some citizens from Mumbai, Pune and Indore have been duped by them. Vinay Sindhutai Sapkal of the Mai Padmashri Sindhutai Sapkal Sanstha has appealed to citizens not to become victims of such networks. They also asked the people who have been cheated to lodge complaints with the police.
The imposters are telling citizens that they are speaking from the Mai Padmashri Sindhutai Sapkal Sanstha. Then they are seeking donations to marry off orphan girls. The Sanstha has already approached the police in this regard. It has clarified that such donations are neither sought by the Sanstha nor any signatures are taken on any bond paper. If anyone has given such donations or signatures on a bond paper, they should get in touch with the nearest police station, said Vinay Sapakal.
A person was recently duped of Rs 11,000 by imposters citing the name of Sindhutai’s Sanstha. A case has been registered in this regard. It was also learnt that food grain is also sought as donation in the name of the Sanstha.
Vinay Sindhutai Sapakal said that these fraudsters are seeking donations in the name of the Mai Sindhutai Sapkal Sanstha. They are demanding online donations for marriages of orphan girls. Cases of cheating have been reported mainly from Hadapsar, Kothrud, Jalgaon, Sambhaji Nagar. Money and food grain was collected in Mumbai, where cases have been registered.
