Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati given a grand farewell; Flower petals shower, cold fire display amidst Dhol-Tasha beats

Pune : NpNews24 Online  – The grand Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati immersion lasted for over 10 hours. The chariot carrying the Ganesh idol was attractively decorated while it was being illuminated with cold fire. Martial games were being played with the accompaniment of Dhol-Tasha beats. Thus, the country’s first public Ganesh mandal’s idol was given a grand farewell.

The immersion procession started after garlanding the Mahatma Phule statue at Mandai. The Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati Trust paid obeisance to the five Manache Ganpati by garlanding them. Trustee and Celebration Committee Chief Punit Balan performed aarti of the Lord and the actual procession started at 11 pm on Friday. The traditional chariot was decorated with attractive flowers. Floral statues of traditional ranshing (musical instrument) players were installed on the four corners of the chariot, which was illuminated with cold fire, which was a special attraction for devotees.

A white pair of oxen was pulling the chariot while Celebration Committee Chief Punit Balan became the charioteer. Bhausaheb Rangari’s statue was installed on the chariot. Demonstrations of martial games were perfomed by trained children of the Shivyoddha Mardani Akhada. Dhol-Tasha troupes including Samarth, Nadbrahma and Shriram joined the procession.

 

 

As the procession arrived on Laxmi road, the Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati was garlanded and aarti was performed at many placed by eminent people. Devotees were showering flowers on the chariot. The cold fire light effects made a dazzling display. Trust President Sanjeev Jawale, office-bearers and mandal workers participated in a large number.

 

 

CP Gupta performs aarti

The Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati chariot arrived at Alka Talkies Chowk at 9 am on Saturday. CP Amitabh Gupta and Additional Municipal Commissioner Vilas Kanade performed Bappa’s aarti there. Devotees crowded the chariot at that moment. The surroundings reverberated with the chants of ‘Ganpati Bappa Moraya, Mangal Murti Moraya’. Later, the procession moved ahead.
