Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Temple decorated with 2,000 kg grapes for Sankashti Chaturthi

Pune : NpNews24 Online  –  Shrimant Dagdusheth Ganpati | On the occasion of Sankashti Chaturthi, the Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Sarvajanik Ganpati Trust celebrated the grape festival at the temple. The sanctum sanctorum was decorated with black and green grapes. The 2,000 kg grapes were from Sahyadri Farmers Producers Company Limited situated at Nashik and were of export quality and grown without using chemicals. (Shrimant Dagdusheth Ganpati)

 

The Vice-President of the trust, Sunil Rasane, company’s MD Vilas Shinde and office-bearers of the company were present. The grapes will be distributed among devotees, orphanages, old age homes and Sassoon Hospital as prasad.

 

The President of the Trust, Manik Chavan, said, “The decoration has been done for the second year in a row during the grape season. Devotees had thronged the temple since early morning to see the decoration. Because of the frequent changes in the weather and low price in the market, grape farmers are facing a difficult situation. However, the farmers have decided to overcome the situation and prayers were offered to Lord Ganesh on behalf of the farmers.”

 

Sunil Rasane said, “In Ayurveda, grapes are very important from a health point of view. Grapes are a rich source of Potassium, Magnesium, Calcium and C vitamin. Grapes reduce the risk of heart attack and its consumption has a positive effect on our brain. Grapes also have a lot of fibre which helps in reducing weight. The consumption of green grapes also helps during constipation. Grapes increase haemoglobin level. Since consumption of grapes is useful for our health, they will be distributed at orphanages, old age homes and Sassoon Hospital as prasad.”
