The name of the accused is Suraj Brahmadev Munde (23) from Manikbaug, Sinhagad Road.

According to the police, Phulpari Sweet Mall is located near the main road at Vadgaon Budruk on Sinhagad Road. Two persons came at 4 pm on Monday when the shop was open. They took a kilo of kaju katli. When the shopkeeper asked for money, they refused to pay. Then the shopkeeper said they should either return the sweets or pay the money. As no bullet was fired from the pistol, he took the pistol down and pressed its trigger again, only to have one bullet fired down. Seeing this, the crowd gathered at the shop. Then both accused ran away. But the shopkeeper ignored it thinking it must be a toy pistol.

Sachin Niwangune, president of the Trade Association, told Senior Police Inspector Shailesh Sankhe about this. The police checked the CCTV footage. A bullet from a pistol was seen in the shop. Then the police realized that it was a genuine pistol. They immediately searched for the accused and arrested them.
