Restoration of Shri Vruddheshwar Siddheshwar Mandir Devsthan will be completed soon: Shobhatai R Dhariwal

Pune : NpNews24 Online  –  Shobha Rasiklal Dhariwal | Shri Vruddheshwar Siddheshwar Mandir at Shivajinagar is an ancient temple. Numerous devotees regularly visit the place. A natural Pind (Lingam-phallus) sculpture is located in the sanctum sanctorum, which is built in stone while the Mnadap (front hall) has huge teakwood pillars. (Shobha Rasiklal Dhariwal)

 

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj had stayed here a day before he attacked Shasta Khan, the then Mughal governor. Hence, the place has a historical importance also. The temple is located on the Mula-Mutha riverbank. Ahilyabai Holkar had built its ghat, a platform with steps along the riverbank. However, the temple with religious and historical significance has been neglected. However, the neglected temple will soon be restored and the ancient artefacts on its premises will be preserved. The front hall, nagarkhana, dhol-tasha troupe hall, classroom for pakhwaj players and a study room will be built. Funds for the same have been handed over to the trustees of the temple trust.

 

Temple trust President Hanumant Bahirat Patil, Secretary Sudhir Maroti Durge, Treasurer Shashikant Suresh Bhosale, Trustees Mahesh Chandrakant Durge and Sanjay Bhimsen Satpute were present.
