People in Punjab did not accept some decisions taken by Congress, says Sharad Pawar

Pune : NpNews24 OnlineSharad Pawar | As per the results available so far, the BJP is going to come to power in four states except Punjab. The Congress could not retain power in Punjab and the Aam Aadmi Party has taken an unassailable lead there. NCP President Sharad Pawar has given his reaction to the results of the elections in these states.

The situation in Punjab is suitable for the BJP and has given a jolt to the Congress. “The result of the work done by the AAP in Delhi is visible in Punjab. The people in the state want to support the party which was ruling everywhere except Punjab. Hence, the rule of the BJP has been established,’’ he added.

“The Congress was in a strong position in Punjab but some decisions taken in the party were not accepted by the people in Punjab. The government was led by Capt Amarinder Singh but he was removed and another leader was appointed. Amarinder Singh left the Congress and formed a new party and forged an alliance with the party which is ruling at the Centre. This decision was not accepted by the people in Punjab,” he said.

The farmers staged an agitation outside Delhi and many farmers from Punjab took part in the agitation. Their anger was reflected in the election results.

The people in Punjab defeated the BJP and the Congress and handed over the power to a new party. Kejriwal is running the government in Delhi. The common man in Delhi supports the AAP, he added.
