Sharad Pawar issues ultimatum to govt over governor’s sacking

Mumbai : NpNews24 Online – Sharad Pawar | The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) organised a march today in Mumbai against Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari and some BJP leaders, who made insulting statements about national heroes such as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Mahatma Phule and Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar. While addressing the march, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar attacked the Governor and the BJP. “The names and deeds of the great men of Maharashtra are remembered with reverence throughout the country. But the governor makes controversial statements about these great men,” he said. He issued an ultimatum to the government to expel the governor and other leaders, failing which Maharashtra will rise against them. He said those who use derogatory language about great men must be taught a lesson.
“We have come together today for the honour of Maharashtra. Those in power are humiliating great men of Maharashtra. Maharashtra will never tolerate such insults,” he added. Pawar warned that if an apology is not tendered, the youth will not sit quiet.
Pawar said it has been 55 years since I have been visiting Vidhan Bhavan. I have seen many governors. The then Governors raised the reputation of Maharashtra. But this governor is continuously making controversial statements.
Mahatma Jotiba Phule is revered in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and South India but the Governor makes controversial statements about such a great man. Expel him as soon as possible. Otherwise, Maharashtra will not remain silent.
