Senior citizens, differently abled people and students to get 25 percent concession in Metro from 1st May ‘Maharashtra Day’ -Chief Minister Eknath Shinde

Mumbai : NpNews24 Online  –  Maharashtra Govt Announcement | The senior citizens, differently- abled people and students will be given 25 percent concession for travelling by Mumbai Metro from 1st of May- Maharashtra Day. This was announced by Chief Minister of the state Mr Eknath Shinde. The facility will be available to thousands of commuters who belong to the category of Mumbai- 1 National Common Mobility Card users. (Maharashtra Govt Announcement)

 

MHA Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Limited and Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) is going to give this gift from Maharashtra day. The facility will be available on Mumbai- 1pass for senior citizens, students and differently abled passengers for 45 trips to 60 trips.

 

Chief Minister Mr Eknath Shinde said that taking into consideration the needs and security of senior citizens, disabled and younger students, we have prepared the Mumbai Metro network and it is necessary that they should get maximum of the benefit through it. Earlier too, we have given many facilities including free travelling in the buses of state Transport Corporation to senior citizens and 50 percent concession in travelling to women. He said that these decisions are being taken from the ‘social welfare’ point of view and we are sure that due to this concession in Metro travelling, more citizens will be getting the benefit.

 

Who will get the benefit?

This facility will be available to senior citizens above 65 years, students who are pursuing education up to standard 12th and the permanently disabled citizens. Passengers belonging to these three categories will have to submit few documents. For the differently abled citizens- the certificate issued by government or medical organization, age proof for senior citizens, and self – PAN card or that of parents and guardians accompanied by the identity card of the school will be necessary for taking the benefit in the students category.

All this facilities will be available at any ticket window on Metro line 2A and 7 Metro station on presenting the required documents. The facility will also be available for new as well as the Mumbai- 1 card purchased earlier. It will be valid for 30 days. The Mumbai- 1 card can be used and recharged at card retail stores, petrol pumps and during the travelling by the BEST buses.
