Second ‘Punit Balan Celebrity League’ cricket tournament to start on Jan 12; renowned directors, superstars and veteran actors from Marathi film industry to participate

Pune :  NpNews24 Online  –  Punit Balan Celebrity League (PBCL) | The second season of ‘Punit Balan Celebrity League’ cricket tournament is being organised by the Punit Balan Group featuring directors, superstars and veteran actors of the Marathi film industry. The tournament will be held in Pune from January 12 to 15 2023 at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium Swargate. Spectators will be given free entry. (Punit Balan Celebrity League (PBCL))

Speaking about the competition, Punit Balan, Executive Director, Punit Balan Group, said that the competition, being organised for the second year in a row, includes veteran and renowned directors of Marathi film industry, superstars, actors, supporting actors and art directors, composers, writers, lyricists, technicians. The relationship between cricket and film actors is inseparable. All these actors have been entertaining citizens through movies and other media. Now, they are going to put their skills to use on the cricket field. Balan said, “We are trying to offer Puneites a unique feast of cricket, artistes and fun through this tournament.”

The tournament will be held from January 12 to 15 at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Swargate. All the matches will be held during the day-night period. The tournament is sponsored by Punit Balan Group and Manikchand Oxyrich. A total of Rs 4 lakh will be awarded in the competition.

The first tournament winners Shivneri Royals, runner-up Panhala Jaguars, Torana Lions,
Raigad Panthers, Sinhagad Strikers, Pratapgad Tigers will be competing for the title.
The matches of this tournament, which will be played with the white ball, will be played in league and knock-out stages.

Torna Lions will be captained by Punit Balan, Panhala Jaguars to be captained by Mahesh Manjrekar, Pratapgad Tigers by Sharad Kelkar, Sinhagad Strikers by Siddharth Jadhav, Shivneri Royals by Subodh Bhave and Raigad Panthers by Pravin Tarde. Legendary superstar-actors will represent these teams in the tournament.

Rs 1.11 lakh and a trophy will be presented to the winning team of the competition. Rs 51,000 and a trophy to the runner-up team. Besides, individual prizes will also be given. The best player of the series will get Rs 21,000 and an electric bike. The best batsman, bowler and fielder will be awarded a trophy and Rs 11,111.

Also, for each match, the player of the match will be awarded Rs 5,000 and a trophy.

All spectators and enthusiasts will be given free entry to the competition. Apart from this, the audience will be able to enjoy all these matches through ‘Punit Balan Studios’ YouTube channel, said Punit Balan.
