Schools to start in phased manner after Diwali : Education Minister

Mumbai : Despite the decline in corona infection in the state, school classes will be started in phases after Diwali, taking into account the health and safety of students as well as corona conditions, School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad said.

Since the students of class IX to XII are more alert than the students of primary school and as it is their important academic year, it will be considered to start schools of these classes. Also, the government will y aftnot take risk on the health of students and teachers by starting all schools. The decision on whether to start the school from October 15 should be taken by the state government is based on the situation in the state and the government’s readiness, the Centre’s Unlock 5 guidelines said. The Education Minister clarified that this decision will be taken only after review.
