Rs 500 stipend for ITI students in the next three months: Minister Mangalprabhat Lodha

Nagpur : NpNews24 Online  – ITI Student Stipend | Stipend for Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) students in the state will be increased from Rs 40 to Rs.500. Skill, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha stated in the Legislative Council that the decision will be implemented in the next three months.

 

The members raised a question regarding the increase in the stipend of the students in the ITIs. Minister Lodha was replying to them.

 

Minister Lodha said since 1982 the stipend of students in Government ITIs has been Rs 40. The process of submitting the proposal to increase it to Rs 500 for the approval of the cabinet is underway at the departmental level. The admission fees of government ITIs are less as compared to private ones. Efforts are being made to provide better facilities to the students. The state government is trying to achieve 100 percent enrollment by strengthening ITIs. In the district/taluka, the process of initiating syllabus concurrent with the MIDC and industry is underway as per the demand. Minister Lodha also said that local skilled workers and teachers from ITIs will be trained.

 

ITIs will be renovated; provision of Rs 1200 cr
There are 419 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in the state. Students from ordinary families are pursuing education and training in these ITIs. The state government has decided to renovate these ITIs to provide better facilities to these students. A provision of Rs 1200 crore has been made for this. Various facilities like virtual classrooms, library, gym will be provided. This will be implemented in the next six months.

 

Minister Lodha clarified this in a reply to the sub question.
