Rosary School Director Vinay Aranha arrested by ED; Remanded to ED custody till March 20
Pune : NpNews24 Online – ED Arrest Vinay Aranha | The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested the Director of Rosary School, Vinay Aranha. The court has remanded Vinay Aranha to ED custody till March 20. Aranha’s arrest has created a flutter. (ED Arrest Vinay Aranha)
Vinay Aranha took a loan from Cosmos Bank by misleading it. The loan had been sanctioned for renovation of the school. However, it has been alleged that Aranha used the money taken as loan from the bank to fund his lavish lifestyle and organise various programmes involving Bollywood celebrities.
The probe being carried out by the ED is in the initial stage. Aranha has been remanded to ED’s custody to help the agency to carry out a detailed probe. The ED told the court that the investigation at present is in the initial stage and it is necessary to question him in ED’s custody. The testimonies recorded as per provisions of PMLA point at the involvement of Aranha in money laundering.
After being produced in the court, the ED had demanded 14-day custody of Aranha. The court has issued an order that Aranha should be kept in ED custody till March 20.
