PUNE : Renovation Of Theatres In Pune | Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil issued instructions that suggestions should be sought from artistes and the citizens about the renovation of theatres by June end and repair works should be started by July 15 and they should get over by August end.
He was speaking during a meeting held at the government guest house to take an overview of the condition of theatres. Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar, Addl Municipal Commissioner Dr Kunal Khemnar, Deputy Commissioner Chetna Kerure and other civic officials.
Patil said that the main building of Balgandharva Rangmandir should be renovated. A reputed organisation should be appointed to take care of its cleanliness. Suggestions should be invited from citizens regarding the repairs and the process of floating tenders should be started by June end. Repair works should be carried out on a war footing and considering the number of cultural programmes, a one month notice should be given about the closure of the auditorium for repairs.
An air-conditioning system should be installed at Ganesh Kala Krida Manch. Separate officials should be appointed to oversee works in each auditorium. While carrying out the repair works, the opinion of artistes should also be considered. The work of building a ramp at the Pandit Bhimsen Joshi Kalamandir should be completed as early as possible. The work of repairs of Annabhau Sathe auditorium should be completed soon. The remaining work of the new building of Yashwantrao Chavan auditorium should be completed in three months, he said.
The encroachments on Pashan-Sus Road should be removed by June end. Civic officials should visit sites where Smart City work is being carried out. In Pshan area, the road construction work should be started soon by solving problems related to land. Civic officials should conduct a dialogue with citizens and immediately try to remove obstacles in civic works. The PMC should plan in such a manner that water problems of Baner-Balewadi and Pashan should be solved by June 10.
