Relief to Modi Govt! SC gives clean chit in Rafale Deal

SC has rejected all the Petitions against Rafale deal.

 

NP NEWS 24 ONLINE- The Supreme Court (SC) has given relief to the Modi government, by explaining that no irregularities have been found in the Rafael Fighter Jet deals between India and France.  And in this way, SC dismissed all the Petitions seeking an investigation into Rafale Deal on Friday.

The Supreme Court, led by Chief Justice of India (CJI) said that “We can’t compel the government to purchase 126 aircraft and it’s not proper for the court to examine each aspect of this case. It isn’t a job of the court to compare pricing details.”

As well as, the court has not found any objection in the decision to issue the offset rights to the Reliance Défense. “There is no reason for interference in the choice of offset partner,” CJI added.

All the Petitions are Dismissed:

The SC has dismissed all the Petitions seeking an investigation into Rafale Deal and said that no probe is essential into the pricing aspects Rafael deal of purchasing the 36 fighter jets from France.

An SC Bench headed by CJI Ranjan Gogoi, Justice SK Kaul and Justice K M Joseph judged this petition on Friday.

However, former Union Minister Yashwant Sinha, and well-known economist Arun Shourie and others had filed a petition in the Supreme Court for alleged corruption in the deal. The petitioners also demanded that the scam should be investigated under the supervision of the court.
