Ravindra Dhangekar spends maximum on campaign

Pune : NpNews24 Online  –  Pune Kasba Peth Bypoll Election | The voting has started for the Kasba Peth bypoll which has captured the attention of political circles in the state. The BJP has made Kasba Peth bypoll a prestige issue. Both BJP and MVA had told its bigwigs to campaign in the constituency and it remains to be seen who will emerge as winner. Lakhs of rupees were spent on the campaign. However, it has come to light that candidates have spent very little money in Kasba Peth. Dhnagekar had alleged that BJP had distributed money to voters and had gone on a fast. BJP and MVA targeted each other on the issue. However, considering the expenditure of both the candidates, both of them have spent ₹20.54 lakh on campaigning. Ravindra Dhangekar has spent ₹11.60 lakh and BJP candidate Hemant Rasane has spent ₹8.94 lakh on the campaign. The election observers are carrying out expenditure of each candidate in the presence of the candidate and poll officials in three stages. According to an official, the checking of expenditure as per poll officials’ instructions has been completed.
