Pune youth’s painting used as Symbol to create awareness among women about Presidential Elections in the US

Pune: The US presidential election has always been a topic of discussion, study and curiosity for us. But, did you know that a young artist from Pune has played an important role in this election? ‘Think Woman’, an organization, launched a campaign to create awareness among women in the United States about the presidential elections. A painting by Vaidehi Reddy from Pune was used as a symbol of the campaign.

 

Think Woman, a Maryland-based organization, had launched a campaign to raise awareness among women about the presidential election to encourage more women to vote, using Vaidehi’s portrait as a key symbol of the campaign, both online and offline. The aim of the campaign was to create awareness among women voters about the important issues in the election campaign.

 

The painting was created by Vaidehi in 2018. The painting falls into the category of Abstract Contemporary Style. She had previously won the 2014 Google Doodle Contest at the national level. She has also been honored by several foreign government organizations for her contributions to art. She was also the first Indian student to receive a scholarship of around Rs 2 crore from the prestigious Cornell University in the United States. Vaidehi completed her schooling at the Army School in Pune and her father is serving in the Indian Army.
