Pune: Youth lured for job in Abu Dhabi, duped of Rs 3 lakh

Pune: The Indian youth are several times duped in the name of providing employment opportunities abroad. The similar event came to light when a young man was defrauded of Rs 3 lakh in a bid to get a job in Abu Dhabi, Dubai. These types of incidents have occurred several times between March and October 2020.

Anil Kale (57) has lodged a complaint at Dattawadi police station of fraud. According to police, the victim had created a profile and registered to get a job on the web portal Indeed.com. The two accused contacted him by phone on pretext of speaking from ADNOC Petrochemical in Abu Dhabi. The two contacted him through getting his contact through indeed. The accused affirmed the victim of his confirmed placement in the company.

Later, according to the victim, he was interviewed on the phone and asked him to pay Rs 2, 81,000/- for visa, accommodation and other things. The money was paid by the victim and later on realized that he was cheated. Thereafter, he filed a complaint with the Dattawadi police, police are conducting further investigation.
