Pune: A video clip has gone viral on social media which shows a builder is pointing a gun at a person in Vishrantwadi. However, a police inquiry revealed the fact behind the incident.

The builder had bought land in Ranjangaon. However, a dispute over money led to the incident. The builder threatened the person with the ‘gun’. A complaint was lodged at the Vishrantwadi Police Station. The police launched an investigation. It was found that it was a lighter and not a gun. The police have revealed this.

According to the details, Mangesh Shivaji Panchmukh, a resident of Ranjangaon Ganpati of Shirur taluka and a driver by profession, lodged a complaint against Prabhakar Pandurang Bhosale, Deepak Rajkumar Panchmukh, Sachin Bhalchandra Panchmukh and Kiran Ashok Panchmukh. He alleged, in the complaint, that Deepak, Sachin and Kiran forced him to travel, along with them, in a car to the office of Prabhakar Bhosale in Vishrantwadi, where Bhosale threatened him at gunpoint. The complainant also provided the video clip of the incident to the police.

During the investigation, the police found that Bhosale had bought the land at Ranjangaon Ganpati belonging to complainant Mangesh Panchmukh. All formalities regarding the deal were done. Moreover, the complainant also helped Bhosale in some other land deals. Therefore, Bhosale had agreed to pay Rs 6 lakh to the complainant to build a house. Later, Bhosale avoided paying the money.

Initially, Bhosale paid Rs 2 lakh, with which the complainant demolished his old house and started building a new one. But he faced accommodation issues and demanded the remaining amount from Bhosale to complete building of the house.

The investigation revealed that the complainant knew that the pistol seen in the video clip was actually a lighter. But he lodged the complaint to get the remaining money.

The complainant gave his statement to the police on April 26, 2023 in this regard. Moreover, the complainant and the accused have given it in writing that they do not have any complaint against each other. The complaint was lodged on April 27, 2023. Bhosale deposited the said lighter at the police station in the presence of the complainant, who has confirmed it to be so, said the police.
