Pune: Thunderstorms, Heavy rains lash city; Bibwewadi, Wagholi, Sinhagad Road most affected

Pune : The city received torrential rain with thunderstorms late Tuesday night. Heavy rainfall was reported in suburbs like Sinhagad Road, Bibwewadi, Karvenagar, Wagholi, Chandannagar, Yerawada, Wanawadi and Padmavati areas of the city. Shortly after the onset of rains, power supply to some parts of the city was cut off.
The meteorological department has forecast four more days of rain in Pune. Heavy rain is expected in many parts of the city after midnight. Torrential rains in Shivajinagar, Lohegaon, Katraj, Khadakwasla, Warje, Kothrud are expected.
Humidity in the air in the state is declining and the withdrawal of monsoon from Vidarbha is likely to start from October 23. Meanwhile, hot weather is expected to create clouds locally and heavy rains are expected in some places.
In the last 24 hours, it rained in some places in Central Maharashtra, Konkan, Goa, Marathwada and Vidarbha.
Heavy rains are expected in South Konkan, Goa and Central Maharashtra on October 21. Thundershowers and heavy rain are expected in some parts of Konkan, Goa and Central Maharashtra on October 22.
On October 21, Pune, Nashik, Kolhapur, Satara, Palghar, Ratnagiri, Mumbai, Raigad and Sindhudurg districts are likely to receive thundershowers, while Buldhana, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia, Nagpur and Vargha districts are likely to receive light to moderate rains.
