Pune: Swargate Police Register Case Against 100+ Protesters For Creating Ruckus in Police Station
Pune: The Swargate police have taken a decisive stand against the people who protested in the office of the Senior Police Inspector over the demand of a registration of complaints against people who stopped their speakers while taking the Ganesh immersion procession in front of the mosque.
In this regard, the Swargate police have registered a case against Abhay Sonawane, Rahul Khude, Hemant Gaikwad, Mangesh Pawar, Akshay Davre, Bapu Khude, Ujwala Goud, Ganesh Sherla, and 100 to 125 other people. The Senior Police Inspector, Dilip Magansheth Fulpagare, has filed a complaint at Swargate Police Station.
This entire incident took place at Swargate Police Station and the Senior Police Inspector’s cabin on September 20 between 9 p.m. and 12 p.m.
According to the information given by the police, during the Ganesh Visarjan procession in the Swargate police station limits, some people objected to taking the Ganesh Visarjan procession from in front of the mosque. They also forced people to turn off the speaker.
After that, all the activists had gathered at Swargate Police Station, demanding to file a complaint and take action against those individuals. The people also stopped the paths of the senior police inspector and his colleagues while they were performing their government duties and incited mobs by making provocative statements that would create communal tension between the two religions.
The accused also parked their privately owned four-wheelers on the premises of the police station, blocking roads for the police vehicles. In this regard, a case has been registered against them for violating the curfew order. Assistant Police Inspector Changdev Sajgane is investigating further into the incident.
