Pune: Surendra Kumar Agarwal, son Vishal booked for cheating, threatening estate agent

Pune: Skeletons are tumbling out of the Agarwals’ closet. Builder Surendra Kumar Agarwal and son Vishal Agarwal, who have been arrested in the hit-and-run case, have been booked for cheating an estate agent of Rs 1.32 crore and threatening him.

A complaint has been lodged at the Kondhwa Police Station. The father-son duo have already been booked for abetting suicide of a developer at the Chandan Nagar Police Station. One after another, cases are being filed against them in the city.

Mushtaque Shabbir Momin (42), a resident of Kondhwa, lodged a complaint at the Kondhwa Police Station. An offence under sections 420, 406, 504, 506, 120(B), 392, 34 of the IPC has been registered against Surendra Kumar Agarwal (71) and Vishal Agarwal (50) and Jaspreet Singh Rajpal.

The father-son duo threatened Momin that they had links with the underworld. The police cannot do anything to them. They would kill him the way they did to Ajay Bhosale, who survived the attempt.

According to the police, the complainant owns MM Associates and Vastu Properties estate agency. His firm develops plots and procures permissions needed for the same in Pune and other cities. Surendra Agarwal, Vishal Agarwal and Jaspreet Singh Rajpal had a dispute with Nivrutti Kopare over a piece of land behind Brahma County in Kondhwa.

The accused met the complainant in July 2019 and sought his help to end the dispute. The complainant promised them to get required permissions. They negotiated the deal for Rs 1.50 crore. However, the accused did not pay Momin the promised amount and cheated him.
