Some positive news: Khadakwasla dam system has more storage than last year; storage increases by 1 TMC in one day

Pune : NpNews24 Online  – Pune Rains | There is some positive news for citizens of Pune. The storage of water in the Khadakwasla dam system, through which water is supplied to Pune, is now more than last year’s water storage. On Monday morning, the total water storage in the four dams was 8.70 TMC and 29.85 per cent. Last year, it was 8.64 TMC and 29.62 per cent. Since it is raining heavily, the water storage is increasing in the dams.

 

Till Monday morning, Varasgaon dam had recorded 74 mm rain in its catchment area and Panshet, Temghar and Khadakwasla dams had recorded 85 mm, 75 mm and 18 mm rain respectively. It is raining heavily all over Pune district. The Mulshi dam has recorded 103 mm rain, Pavana 117 mm, Gunjavani 77, Pimpalgaon Joge 97, Manikdoh 116, Yedgaon 48, Vadaj 49, Dimbhe 42, Ghod 5, Visapur 4, Chilehwadi 43, Kalmodi 101, Chasakman 50, Bhama Askhed 45, Vadivale 94, Andra 49, Kasarsai 20, Nira Deodhar 46, Bhatghar 36, Nazre 6 and Ujani 2 mm.

 

In Pune city, 22 mm rain was recorded in Shivajinagar till Monday morning. Lavasa recorded 174 mm, Girivan 87, Lonavla 74, Talegaon 59, Bhor 55, Chinchwad 36, Lavle 33, Malin 32, Rajgurunagar 24, Pashan 23, Koregaon Park 20, Narayangaon 17, Hadapsar 13, Shirur 13, Purandar 12, Ambegaon 7, Daund-Baramati 3 mm.

 

Pune city is expected to receive good rainfall in next four days and the ghat regions in the district are expected to receive heavy rainfall, according to a forecast of the IMD.

 

The drivers of vehicles passing through ghat areas should take adequate care, the IMD has said.
