Pune police to soon reward the traffic rules-abiding commuters with discount vouchers

Npnews24 Online Pune: With an aim to promote and propagate the importance of following traffic rules in the city, the Pune traffic police have decided to give out vouchers to those who follow all the rules.

The law-abiding commuters will be able to use the vouchers, worth Rs 100 each, at select malls and restaurants in the city.

Reiterating the need to put a proper traffic system in place in the city, the traffic police department is planning to give out these vouchers as rewards to those citizens who have no pending e-challans and are in possession of all the necessary documents.

If a commuter is caught by the traffic police and is found to be a rule-abiding citizen as far as the aforementioned criteria are concerned, the police will send him a 12-digit code through SMS, which will help him avail Rs 100 voucher at the select restaurant or stores.

The initiative is still in the pipeline, and there is a possibility that the discount availed through these vouchers might go above Rs 100 as well.

If implemented soon, the reward system might encourage more people to follow traffic rules in a city, notorious for its traffic woes and people’s apathy towards following traffic rules.
