Police inspector transferred to control room for one month

Pune : NpNews24 OnlinePune Police | The police inspector of the Bund Garden traffic division has been transferred to the police control room for a month. Recently, the ACB had arrested a police employee of the Bund Garden traffic division for accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 for not taking any action against a pick up vehicle transporting goods.

The PI was transferred for not having control over police officers and policemen working under him and this incident maligning the police department.

Joint CP Dr Ravindra Shisve issued the order and the PI has been identified as AD Dalvi.

A 37-year-old person had filed a complaint. The policeman of the Bund Garden traffic department, Dilip Dattu Funde (34), stopped the pick up truck. When Funde checked the documents, he found that vehicle insurance and registration had lapsed. Funde demanded a bribe of Rs 7,000 for not sending the vehicle to the RTO. Funde agreed to accept Rs 5,000 and he was arrested while accepting the money on Friday night by ACB officials after laying a trap.

Funde was working under PI AD Dalvi in the Bund Garden traffic department. It is necessary for the PI to keep control over police officials and policemen working under him. Since Dalvi failed to do so, this incident took place which maligned the police department.

An order issued by Joint CP Dr Ravindra Shisve says Dalvi has been transferred to the control room for a month. Some time ago, CP Amitabh Gupta had clarified that if such incidents happen, the concerned PI will be held responsible and action will be taken against him.

Last week, CP Gupta had taken a similar action against a PI. Hence, this incident has sent shivers down the spine of police department employees.
