Pune Police News | Policeman Swapnil Garad accorded state funeral
Pune : NpNews24 Online – Pune Police News | The state funeral of policeman Swapnil Garad who was posted at the Economic Offences Wing, was held at the crematorium in Mundhwa on Sunday morning. The Pune police gave a salute to the late policeman. Swapnil Garad had passed away after scaling Mount Everest. His funeral took place today after his mortal remains were brought to Pune. There was a huge crowd at the Mundhwa crematorium. Police Commissioner Retesh Kumaarr, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik and many senior police officers were present. They paid rich tributes to Swapnil Garad.
After climbing Mount Everest, Swpanil Garad had become brain dead. He was being treated at a hospital in Kathmandu. A team of Pune police had gone to Kathmandu after they came to know that he was being treated in the ICU. His health deteriorated and he passed away on June 7, 2023.
Swapnil Garad’s mortal remains were brought to Mundhwa on Sunday. Garad was accorded a state funeral. A pall of gloom has descended on the police department, Garad’s family and friends.
