Illegal activities in Bharati Vidyapeeth and Katraj: Police commissioner acts against senior police inspector

Pune : NpNews24 OnlinePune Police | Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta has taken action against the concerned senior police inspector after proliferation of illegal businesses in the Bharati Vidyapeeth area and Katraj. Senior police inspector of Bharati Vidyapeeth police station Jagannath Kalaskar has been attached to the Pune police control room for seven days. When contacted, CP Gupta confirmed the action taken against Kalaskar.

 

He has clarified that such action will be taken against the senior police inspector of any police station where illegal activities are taking place.

 

Senior police officers had come to know that illegal activities were taking place on a large scale in Bharati Vidyapeeth and Katraj area. There are also rumours that some police officials from Bharati Vidyapeeth police station were busy collecting money from those who carry out illegal activities.

 

In the meantime, it was clear that illegal activities were taking place in the area. Hence, Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta has taken action against senior police inspector Jagannath Kalaskar. He has been attached to the police control room for seven days and the charge of the police station has been given to the police inspector (second PI).

 

From time to time, Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta and Joint CP Dr Ravindra Shisve had given instructions that no illegal activities should start in the limits of any police station. Gupta had already clarified that if it is found that illegal activities are being held in any area, action will be taken against the concerned senior police inspector or police official.

 

There were frequent reports of illegal activities in Bharati Vidyapeeth and Katraj area and action was taken after confirming the same.

 

Gupta’s action against the senior police inspector has sent shivers down the spine of many police officers and policemen. The police commissioner’s action has created a flutter in the police force.
