Pune Police Crime Branch nabs two drug peddlers

Pune : NpNews24 Online Pune Crime | The Anti-Narcotics Cell of Pune police arrested two persons, who came from Ahmednagar to Pune to sell narcotic substances. Over 2 kg 100 gm hashish worth Rs 8.46 lakh was confiscated from them. The action was taken at the Sangamwadi bus stop, where private buses halt. (Pune Crime)

 

The arrested have been identified as Iqbal Shamim Khan (24), a resident of Nigdi, hailing from Ahmednagar, and Firoz Sharif Khan (33), a resident of Ahmednagar. PI Prakash Khandekar got a tip-off that two persons standing at the private bus stop at Sangamwadi had narcotics.

 

A trap was laid and the duo was arrested. Hashish was found in a bag in their possession. It was found that they were planning to sell the narcotic substance in the city. An FIR has been filed against them at the Yerawada police station.

 

The action was taken under the guidance of CP Amitabh Gupta, Joint CP Dr Ravindra Shisve, Addl CP Ramnath Pokale, DCP Srinivas Ghadge and ACP Narayan Shirgaonkar. A team comprising PI Prakash Khandekar, PSI Digambar Chavan, police personnel Santosh Deshpande, Bomadandi, Chetan Gaikwad, Jachak, Sahil Shaikh and Jagdale took the action.
