Pune Police Crime Branch nab five kidnappers within four hours

Pune : NpNews24 OnlinePune Crime | Five goons were arrested by the Pune Police Crime Branch for kidnapping a youth for not repaying borrowed money. The Crime Branch traced the accused within four hours of the crime.

 

The arrested have been identified as Dipak Mohan Taktode (32), Chhagan Vitthal Jagdale (33), Bhagwan Dattu Shinde (48), Vishal Nanasaheb Sawant (25), and Vijay Siddheshwar Shitole (27), all residents of Aran village in Madha taluka of Solapur. Shinde was serving a jail term in a murder in 2010. He was out on parole after contracting the Corona virus. He committed this crime while he was on parole.

 

According to the police, Atiq Tamboli (30) was a resident of Solapur. He had borrowed some money from Chhagan Jagdale. However, he did not return the money. He is working as a contract employee in a bank in Pune. On Sunday, he and his co-brother Yasin Shaikh were travelling to attend a wedding ceremony. They went to a petrol pump in Shewalewadi at around 11.30 am. Yasin was standing a distance away while Atiq was getting petrol filled in his vehicle. Some people arrived in a car there. They kidnapped Atiq and ran away.

 

Yasin reported the matter to the police control room. Crime Branch API Prasad Lonare and his colleagues arrived at the crime spot. They tried to locate the mobile phone of Tamboli. It was traced to Nana Peth. The police tried to search them in the area. Yasin had noted the registration number of the car. The police located the car and arrested the five accused. They have been handed over to the Hadapsar police for further action.

 

The Hadapsar police registered a kidnapping case and arrested the culprits. The action was taken under the guidance of Commissioner of police Amitabh Gupta, Joint CP Dr Ravindra Shisve, Addl CP Ramnath Pokale, DCP Shriniwas Ghadge, and ACP Gajanan Tompe. The police team comprising PI Hemant Patil, API Prasad Lonare, police personnel Pramod Tilekar, Mahesh Waghmare, Daya Shegar, Ramesh Sable, and Prithviraj Pandule took the action.
