Pune police organise all out combing operation, 722 criminals found

Pune : NpNews24 OnlinePune Police Combing Operation | An all out combing operation was organised by all police stations and the Crime Branch. Teams of officials and policemen and the Crime Branch had been formed. These teams carried out the combing operation and checking. The operation was held from Wednesday night from 11 pm to 1 am on Thursday.

 

CP Amitabh Gupta had issued an order that a combing operation should be held in the jurisdiction of the Pune police commissionerate and check hotels, lodges, dhabas, ST stands and bus stops, railway stations and question suspicious persons and take action against them. During the operation, 3,059 criminals were checked and 722 criminals were found. During the operation, daggers worth Rs 5,100, 5 swords worth Rs 4,000 were seized and 22 accused were arrested.

 

The Crime Branch has arrested an accused (21), a resident of Baramati but now staying in Pune, in a vehicle theft case registered at the Lashkar police station. The police have seized a scooter worth Rs 20,000 from him. A team of unit 3 of the Crime Branch arrested an accused Sunny Naresh Jaiswal (33), a resident of Devachi Uruli, in a case registered at the Haveli police station and handed him over to the police. A team of unit 4 arrested an accused Salman Farooq Qureshi (22), a resident of Yerawada in a case registered at the Koregaon police station. A team of unit 6 arrested an accused Santosh alias Vilas Kachru Edke (35), a resident of Vadki in a case registered at Koregaon Park police station.

 

The anti-extortion cell of Pune police arrested Wasim Salim Patel (40), a resident of Kondhwa Khurd and seized two mopeds worth Rs 80,000 from him in a case registered at Kondhwa police station. An investigation team of the Lonikand police station arrested the accused Aryan Airport Pawar (19), a resident of Wagholi and Prashant alias Nanesh Kaluram (20), resident of Shirur taluka and handed him over to the police station.

 

The Lonikand police have arrested accused Samadhan Nivrutti Sable (27), a resident of Wagholi in a vehicle theft case. The Chatuhshrungi police have arrested the three accused Nikesh Raghunath Shelar, Tanmay Raju Shitole and Nikhil Prakash Dongre.

 

The police station has arrested two accused under the Bombay Prohibition Act in four cases and seized goods worth Rs 8,060 from them. A preventive action was taken under CRPC Act and Maharashtra Police Act against the 65 accused. The police also checked 479 hotels and lodges.

 

During the naka bandi operation, 741 suspicious vehicle drivers were checked and action was taken against 22 out of them. The transport department checked 693 suspicious vehicle drivers and took action against 49 two-wheelers, 15 three-wheelers and 27 four-wheelers.

 

The action was taken on the instructions of CP Amitabh Gupta by Joint CP Dr Ravindra Shisve, Addl CP Rajendra Dahale, Addl CP Namdev Chavan, Addl CP Ramnath Pokale, DCP Srinivas Ghadge, DCP Priyanka Narnavre, DCP Sagar Patil, DCP Pournima Gaikwad, DCP Rohidas Pawar, DCP Namrata Patil, DCP (traffic) Rahul Shrirame who guided the Crime Branch, transport department and officials and policemen of various police stations.
