Pune Police booked BJP MLA Chandulal Patel in BHR case

npnews24 –  Pune : The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Pune crime branch has booked BJP MLA Chandulal Patel in the MPID case of the Jalgaon-based Bhaichand Hirachand Raisoni (BHR) Multi-state Cooperative Credit Society.

According to police Patel is one of the 15 accused recently booked by the EOW in the case. Of which 12 have been arrested in recent raids conducted by the EOW in various parts of Maharashtra and Indore. While three including Chandulala Patel is still at large, said Bhagyashri Navtake, Deputy Commissioner of Police (EOW).

Navtake said, “According to investigation Chandulal Patel and other 14 accused used illegal way to close loan account by adjusting the amount from the accounts of depositors.”

The case was registered by Ranjana Ghorpade a retired teacher at the Deccan Police of Pune city in November 2020. In the case, EOW had also booked liquidator Jitendra Kandare who was arrested in a recent raid.

According to officials, the board of directors cheated depositors. When the government appointed a liquidator who is supposed to recover the loan amount from debtors and give the money back to depositors, he also cheated depositors.

According to reports, The liquidator return very less amount to the depositors and took affidavits signed by them declaring that they had received the deposits back. Since then depositors are following up for justice.
