Pune PMC Election 2022 | Lucky draw for reservation of seats in the PMC polls being held on Tuesday

Pune :  NpNews24 Online  – Pune PMC Election 2022 |  A lucky draw will be held for the reservations in the civic polls for Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and women in the city on Tuesday. As many as 173 seats in 58 wards will be reserved under these categories. The draw will make it clear how many out of 165 corporators will get the candidature again under these reservations.

The draw will be held for 23 SC, 2 ST and 87 women seats at the Ganesh Kala Krida Manch. The only ward with a two-member panel already has one seat reserved for a woman.

The last civic elections were held for a four-member panel. All aspirants had then hopes that they would get party ticket in spite of quotas for the OBC and women. Many of them got party tickets in the polls. However, in the current three-member panel, one corporator each will be dropped from all wards. There is also a possibility that some corporators will not get tickets as the OBC quota has been cancelled. Some corporators will not get a chance in the third stage. This has increased the curiosity about the quotas.
