NCP will provide all help to allot plots on ownership basis in Panshet flood affected townships, says Prashant Jagtap

Pune : NpNews24 OnlinePune Panshet Flood | The state government has decided to charge Rs 60 per sq mtr for allotting plots given for Panshet flood affected townships to societies on ownership basis. The Panshet flood affected townships are mostly located at Sahakar Nagar, Padmavati, Dattawadi, Gokhale Nagar and Janwadi and if they want to take ownership of these plots by taking loans from banks or credit societies, the NCP’s city unit will extend all help to them, said NCP city unit president Prashant Jagtap.

The state government has taken a decision to allot houses in Panshet flood hit townships on ownership basis in 2013. However, the plots on which these houses have been built, which have been given on 99-year lease, have been given by the government to societies set up by the citizens. There are 103 societies of flood hit people. However, due to technical problems, when the plots were to be allotted on ownership basis, there was a lack of clarity about the charges and the process of allotting houses on ownership basis could not be completed.

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar had asked the government to fix the charges. Hence, in a cabinet meeting held on Thursday, the rate of Rs 60 per sq mtr was fixed and it was decided that the process of allotment of plots on ownership basis should be completed in three years. Jagtap said this will help in solving the pending issue of allotting houses of 1,000 people in societies on ownership basis.

Many technical problems have cropped up because this issue has been kept pending for four generations. A committee of all societies has been set up. The panel is collecting documents from the residents. Money will have to be collected from flood affected people who have got flats on these plots and it will have to be paid to the government.

Fortunately, since the price of the plots is the price of lands in 1976, around Rs 5 to 6 crore will have to be paid to the government on behalf of all societies.

If there is a problem in collecting these funds, then, Pune District Central Cooperative Bank, other banks and financial institutions will provide loans and the NCP will provide all necessary help, he said.

Corporator Ashwini Kadam, corporator Subhash Jagtap and Shashikant Baddare of Panshet Cooperative Housing Development Board were present.
