Pune News | Over 250 children found Covid-19 positive in the first week of July, PMC prepares for the possible third wave

npnews24 – In the first week of July, the Pune city saw an increase in Covid-19 cases among children. As many as 268 children tested positive among 2065 newly infected patients.

With the steady rise in the case, Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is preparing for the possible third wave and has reserved over 3000 beds in government and private hospitals.

According to figures, almost 10 percent of the Covid-19 patients who died between the period were from below 18 years of age. The total number of death of children due to covid has risen to 25 in the same period.

The PMC facility for children will include 30 ventilators, 60 ICU beds, 320 oxygen beds, and 1,300 normal beds.

According to officials, in Private hospitals 143 ventilators, 242 ICU beds, 1,083 oxygen beds, and 251 normal beds are available.
