Mumbai: NpNews24 Online – Pune Metroman Shashikant Limaye | Shashikant Limaye who was known as Metroman of Pune, has passed away at the age of 71. He died of a heart attack at his residence. He was taken to a hospital after suffering a heart attack but declared dead on arrival. He is survived by wife, two daughters and a brother.
Shashikant Limaye has worked as advisor of the metro projects in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad. He was also known as an expert official in the Indian Railways. In 2014, MahaMetro had appointed Limaye as advisor of the Pune Metro project. He had played a major role in preparing the DPR of the Pune Metro project.
He had secured an engineering degree from IIT Mumbai and worked in the Indian Railways.
After retiring from the post of divisional manager, he was active. He played a major role in planning of the Pune Metro project. He had suggested a metro rail project for Pune from 2012. He had given timely advice for preparing the DPR of Pune Metro project. In 2014, he was appointed as advisor of Pune Metro project by MahaMetro. Hence, he used to be called as Metroman of Pune.
