Pune | Man, three others held for staging kidnapping to avenge brother’s suicide

Pune : NpNews24 Online – The Yerwada police arrested four kidnapping. One of the arrested wanted to avenge the suicide of his brother. So, they kidnapped the son of his brother’s lover and threatened to kill her son.

The youth was kidnapped from Kalyani Nagar and was taken to Perne Phata.

The arrested have been identified as Vijay Ram Gechand (25), Suraj Gangaram Mourya (28), Ajay Raghoba Havale (28), Vikas Anand Bhandari (32) and Zamir Karim Shaikh (19), a resident of Yerwada.

A woman lodged a complaint at the Yerwada police station in this connection. According to the police, the woman had an extra-marital affair with Sunny Gechand. Once he got drunk and went to the woman’s house. She did not entertain him and asked him to go back home. Then he went to the building’s terrace and committed suicide. His brother Vijay Gechand was upset with this incident. The woman’s son works at D Mart in Kalyani Nagar. He was kidnapped at knife point on Friday night while returning home from work in Kalyani Nagar. He informed about his kidnapping to his mother, who approached the Yerwada police.

The police checked CCTV footage in the vicinity of D Mart. They identified Vijay Gechand and got his details on the basis of technical analysis. The kidnappers were traced at Perne Phata. The police arrested the kidnappers and freed the youth from their custody.

The action was taken under the guidance of DCP Rohidas Pawar, ACP Kishor Jadhav, Senior PI Yunus Shaikh, and PI (Crime) Vijaysingh Chouhan. API Ravindra Alekar, PSI Ankush Dombale, PSI Vishal Patil, police personnel Ganpat Thikole, Datta Shinde took part in the action.
